Goin’ Mobile
Ordinarily when I travel for business I do not have a car. I stay near the office or leverage transportation like the L in Chicago or the Tube in London. But this week, ah this week is different - I have a luxurious Buick Century offering me the freedom of the open road. I can go anywhere, do anything I want. Mamma don’t stop me now!
That’s the good news. The bad news is that I’m in Cincinnati. And from what I can tell, there is nothing to do here. Nothing at all. The Cincinnati Zoo was mentioned but then dismissed because of the weather. Someone suggested dinner at a legendary rib joint - although it turns out the actual legend is in Alabama and this is just a copy.
So despite having a car, and having the freedom of the open road, I find myself having dinner in the hotel lounge and watching “My Cousin Vinny” on HBO. Sad.
Any suggestions for Cincinnati will be much appreciated - I’ve got two more nights of this.
Good lord, man! Go find a local tavern and talk to the people.
Cincinnati has a vibrant German-American community. You might want to check out a German restaurant for the food and beer while you’re there.
Well I ended up visiting a riverboat casino - certainly a story worth posting later. I had some luck that night…
