San Fran
Mark Twain supposedly once said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” Well I tell you what - he wouldn’t have said that if he were here this week as the weather has been absolutely stunning. Low to Mid seventies with not a cloud in the sky. Today was especially nice as the farmers market on Embarcadero opened up and lunch was spent among the hordes shopping for fresh oranges, fava beans, honey, lilacs, etc.
Speaking of Twain, it’s interesting that this is the second time I’ve chosen to use what I thought to be a Twain quote and in both cases it turns out likely that the quote was incorrectly attributed to him.
The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
Maybe not Twain but they should be.
[...] San Fran - Title was because I was in San Francisco but the point of the story was that a couple of popular quotes I thought should be attributed to Mark Twain were really not written by him. [...]
