No hate mail, because I'm a friendly Michigan fan.

I just wanted to point out that Michigan's mascot is not the Badgers, but the Wolverine. I think Wisconsin is the Badgers.

Oh - and GO BLUE BEAT OSU!

That went toward the wrong story, sorry. Iowa will win the Big-10 so don't worry too much about Michigan, or the Gophers. GO TROJANS. let the hate mail flow.

My kids, 3 girls, are similar; the oldest one used to try everything (and I mean Everything) but is now done with that, my middle one is forming her own opinions (disregarding my input, I should say) after eating everything put in front of her, and my youngest would eat a cricket, a worm, a piece of fungus from the water fountain in the back yard, and then followit up with some milk fermenting for three days in the car at the the airport parking lot. So to say squid soup is acceptable sounds perfectly ok with me, but I am afraid that it (a fish based broth) wouldn't go over very well with 2 of the 3 little animals.

Now, the reason I write is, my wife grew up in India, so our taste is a bit different. She prefers food with a spicy edge, spiced with flowing lava in my opinion, and my kids are torn between two cultural tastes. (I grew up and we still live in Southern California, by the way.) I think of myself as open minded, and open ended if you know what I mean, but I cannot convince my children or my wife of the joys of a good steak cooked rare, or the joys of a well made seared tuna steak. Sushi is out of the question. Do you know of a good fish that would appeal to all tastes. By the way, to my horror, the children are diplaying a taste for food I would find unacceptable, and I really like Indian food. Foods such as Curried "anything," Daal and Pulda (well I like this too), Black Salt (I call it fart juice) and pickled lemon rind and mongoe are now a staple.

I wam now going to process some "jerky" to your specifications, and I am hoping my dad (a pig and mink farmer from Iowa) will have some input in this recipe. It sounds too easy to be true, but I have found, since rebuilding my house in Los Angeles, that most acceptable building processes cost too much, yet I can do it myself for much cheaper with better quality. You site just caught my fancy, so I thought I would throw my 2 cents in.

Talk to you soon,
John
