How Not To Do Web Ads

I was going to write about the potentially interesting new television show that is currently in casting called The Benefactor, which sounds similar to The Apprentice but instead of the reward being a job from Donald Trump it is $1,000,000 from Mark Cuban. Mark “writes very enthusiaticly”:http://www.blogmaverick.com/entry/7435544888710744/ about the casting to date and it is that enthusiasm that makes me think the show could be pretty fun.

But check out the “information page”:http://abc.go.com/site/casting.html on ABC.com – there is a stupid advertisement floating on the right side of the page and rather than the text wrapping around it the text just goes underneath it. And there is no way to move or close that ad. I had to highlight the paragraph and paste into Notepad to see the full text the paragraph describing the show.

How stupid is that?

Haha, for a minute there, I thought you were the first one to cross that line of putting ads in their RSS feed … we all know it’s gonna happen eventually, even if it’s just text-only at first.
