About.com to Wordpress

A couple of years ago Six Apart, makers of the blogging software Movable Type, “announced”:http://www.sixapart.com/about/news/2003/07/aboutcom_powere.html that “About.com”:http://www.about.com was using Movable Type to manage all of their sites. This was a huge deal at the time for the young company.

Today Matt Mullenweg “announced”:http://photomatt.net/2005/12/07/about-switching/ that About.com was switching over to Wordpress. Ouch.

I’ve been a Movable Type user (and plugin developer) for 3 years and a Wordpress user (not on here yet) for a few months and I can honestly say I like Wordpress way more. It’s just so damn elegant.
