Taking A Look Back at Selling Books

by john on February 17, 2008

As I have been going back into the archives I have noticed some interesting combinations of posts. For example, my feeling towards selling books over the years really changed. Here is a chronological look at the posts I made where I referenced selling books on Amazon.com:

Jonesing for a Good Book – Posted on September 2nd, 2003. I conclude “Selling my own books. It’s sort of like stabbing myself in the chest.”

Selling Books – Posted on October 26th, 2004. A little over a year after the previous post and I was stabbing myself in the chest, er, selling my own books on Amazon.com

Update on Selling Books – Posted on March 3rd, 2005. About a half year after I started selling books I had made a profit of over $500. I can’t find if I ever posted this, but I believe that when I was all done I made over $1,000. And I still have a ton of books left, even after selling a ton at garage sales over the years. I had a lot of books.

Amazon History – Posted on September 16th, 2006. Now you see why I have so many books. I buy a lot of books. I look at my Amazon.com buying history dating back to 1997.

I still buy frequently on Amazon.com but I’ve also been turned into a Barnes & Noble man – but only the brick and mortar store. I even have a B&N Mastercard just for use there.

As I have written before, I love books.

I tried putting up a web page almost a year and finally was ready and I could not get my web site uploaded on Yahoo small business and I quit trying and nobody could help me upload my site at Yahoo. So, My web page is still on my computer and I am just stuck with it.

I wanted to sell my books on my own. I sell a book now and then on Amazon and my books seems to selling and really fed up. I sold around
$1.500 all together 2006,2007,2008. Out of those months more then once sold so little like $7.00. I am about to give up on these books. I have not more than two hundred books at my place. Sue
