I got some custom printed business cards printed up recently through a couple of different sites, Moo.com and iPrint. I’m not going to do a big write-up post comparing the two, but ultimately I will be purchasing more cards, should I need them, from iPrint. Don’t get me wrong, the Moo.com cards were nice enough, but the final product layout just didn’t look as nice as iPrint and the cards were a weird size. Plus Moo.com was a lot more expensive.

As often happens when purchasing something my decision to continue to purchase from iPrint was driven by the outstanding product support I received. When you order your custom business cards at iPrint they make very clear that before you hit the order button that you need to make 100% sure that the card looks the way you want it to look.

In my case I had included a link to my public LinkedIn profile but instead of linking it as www.linkedin.com I used linkedin.com thinking I would save some space. What I forgot to do was to make sure that the link still worked in the latter case and as it turned out, it didn’t.

So I bought 250 cards that I was going to have to scribble a “www.” on if I wanted to make them usable. Really a bummer! But, totally my fault.

Shortly after I discovered this mistake I received an email from customer service with the following:

We want to make sure you are totally satisfied with your product. If you have any problem whatsoever, please reply to this e-mail and we will be happy to help you. Your satisfaction is our first priority!

So I rather sheepishly wrote back to say that through no fault of theirs I was not 100% satisfied with my business cards.

Long story short, they refunded me 30% of my original order and gave me a coupon code good for 50% off the replacement order. I thought that was more than fair.
